Chris
Rogers
has been building boats for ten years, and playing in
them for most of his life. After graduating from Bates College
with a degree in economics - and an interest in boatbuilding
and design, he began working as a carpenter and rigger at a
well regarded Maine boatyard. Since that time he has worked from classic wooden
boats to the most modern carbon fiber racing yachts, finding
each discipline rewarding and challenging
in its own ways. He has worked
in some of the worlds premier boatbuilding and components shops, and for America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race teams. Chris started
Rogers Special Projects to offer our services as boat and components builders
and to apply modern custom boatbuilding technologies to other
types of projects.
Ben
Rogers
has been boating and sailing competitively from an early age.
He is a co-owner of Maine Mobile Shrinkwrap, a licensed captain,
and a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy. Ben has extensive
ocean racing experience including several Newport to Bermuda
races as well as Transpac and Transatlantic races. He has worked
in the construction and managment of high performance sailing
yachts, and is well equipped to meet rigging, mechanical, and
electronics challenges.
